Dear Dr. Breazeal,
My name is Shannon Johnson and I’m part of a snow sculpting team called the Snow Angels based in MN. For the last 5 years, we’ve depicted a little girl in a tutu engaging in various scientific pursuits. Each year we’ve chosen a different female scientist as the inspiration for our sculpture.
Typically our sculpture is a 3 day, large block event, but this year, we took on a slightly different challenge – an 8-hour, one-day competition with a smaller block. We were thrilled to create “Cynthia’s Snowbot: Inspired by Cynthia Breazeal.” As a pioneer in human-robot interaction, your work seemed like the perfect subject for our snowy creation.
We’re delighted to share that we won 1st place with “Cynthia’s Snowbot”! More importantly, I wanted to reach out personally to let you know how inspiring you are. Thank you for being such a positive role model and a true inspiration in so many ways.
Sincerely,
Shannon Johnson
